There is an old saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck. I’m not a superstitious person, but when my bride and I had a Hurricane ruin our venue and postpone our wedding, we felt like the unluckiest couple in the world. I could write an entire book describing Lindsay’s efforts and determination to make our day special and even better than planned, but I’ll try and keep it short in the spirit of this review, please hang with me and read this entire review, its great story 🙂
As anyone knows, planning a wedding is no small feat; it takes a lot of time, effort and a very good wedding planner. Lindsay was our “perfect” wedding planner from day one. She was well organized, enthusiastic, positive and very creative. My bride and I had so much trust and comfort letting her plan our big day. We were excited and counting down the days till the wedding. All was going smooth until 3 weeks before the wedding when Hurricane Florence appeared in the Atlantic Ocean and started to make a turn towards North Carolina. As luck would have it (LOL), the Hurricane made a direct hit on Wrightsville Beach and the eye went right over our wedding venue, The Blockade Runner Resort. The resort took major damage and had to cancel our wedding day, with no real reschedule in sight until 6 months later or more. That is when our wedding plans were completely destroyed, and that’s when Lindsay Ransom came to our rescue.
From the moment it happened, Lindsay sprung into action. She was on the phone calming us down and told us all would be ok. She worked around the clock to find us a venue to reschedule. She did all this while she and her family had evacuated the area to get away from the path of the storm. In literally 3 weeks time, Lindsay found us a beautiful house to use as a venue in Southport, NC. We picked a new date, alerted our guests….and that wasn’t even the hard part. We had to find/book all new vendors that had an opening on our new date, and work with the old ones to try and get our money back. Lindsay did it all, with grace and organization, she booked a new catering company, a new flower company, new band, tent company (outdoor wedding), lighting company, hotel blocks for guests, luxury bus transportation, new wedding invite cards with the new wedding date, new photographer, secured town permits, and all along kept our spirits high. As I write this, its actually bringing a huge smile to
my face because she made the impossible… possible.
I can’t believe how well it turned out. With only 3 weeks time, Lindsay planned an entire wedding and everything went perfectly smooth. Our guests raved about the venue and how much fun they had at the wedding. Multiple people told me it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Looking back on it, I’m thankful that hurricane came, I absolutely love how our wedding turned out, we have an amazing story to tell our kids one day (my wife is expecting this August!) and I’m extremely thankful for Lindsay’s efforts and determination to make our day perfect. Because of Lindsay, my bride and I had the perfect wedding, and at the end of the night we felt like the luckiest couple on earth.
